Welcome to the Warooga class, named after the Dharug word for "Big Child," where children aged 3 to 5 years embark on their preschool journey with curiosity and excitement. This is a space where play meets purposeful learning, preparing children for school and beyond through hands-on experiences and skill development.
The Warooga curriculum is designed to foster independence, resilience, and social-emotional growth. By balancing child-led exploration with intentional teaching moments, we encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Key areas like language development, motor skills, and executive functioning are nurtured through engaging play-based experiences.
Our flexible daily routine empowers children to make choices about their learning environment, helping them build confidence and self-regulation. Whether indoors or outdoors, children have access to a variety of stimulating resources that spark curiosity, exploration and discovery.
One highlight of the Warooga class experience is the Garden Kinder program, where children connect with the natural world through extended time in our outdoor learning environment, including the edible garden where food planting and harvesting takes place. This immersive experience deepens children's understanding of sustainability, fosters a love for the environment, and enhances their physical and cognitive development.
In the Warooga class, we believe in celebrating each child’s unique abilities and potential, ensuring they are well-prepared for the exciting transition to formal schooling and beyond.
