Connection with Community Inspires Young Minds

Nurturing a Love for

Connecting With Community

Stepping outside of the Euroka fence and in to the wider community, is something that we view as integral to children's sense of Belonging and Becoming. We undertake various activities throughout the year including;

The Bush Kinder experience - Visits to this space nurtures social-emotional growth, teaching children the importance of teamwork, respect, and environmental stewardship. As children interact with native flora and fauna, they develop a sense of belonging to the land and an appreciation for Indigenous history and culture, which is woven into our curriculum. We also explore Pippas Pass in Blaxland—a unique and ecologically endangered environment.

Through activities like bushwalks, loose-part play, and nature-based problem-solving, children develop essential skills like creativity, resilience, and critical thinking. Educators act as stewards, co-exploring alongside children while encouraging inquiry and considered risk-taking.

Whether it’s climbing over rocks, investigating insects, or simply observing the changing sky, Bush Kinder encourages children to be present in the moment, cultivating joy, curiosity, and mindfulness.

Visiting our Senior Citizens - We spend quality time with our senior citizens at the community hall at Blaxland. While in this space, the children and seniors share stories, sing songs and work on craft activities together.

Blue Mountains City Council Library - Every year, the children make several visits to the library to find out how the borrow and return system works. The children also listen to stories read by the librarian and follow up with some fun craft activities.

Going further afield - Throughout the year, we venture further afield, visiting local cafes or shops and we attend live theatre productions at Penrith and Springwood theatres.
